First single to be released from Brighton Port Authority

Toe JamFatboy Slim’s new project, the Brighton Port Authority, has long been shrouded in mystery. But with the digital release of ‘Toe Jam’ on 7th July, the hearsay can finally come to an end.

This collaboration between FatBoy, Talking Heads frontman, David Byrne, who may be better own for his vocals on X-Press 2’s ‘Lazy’, and the Dirtee Stankster himself, Dizzee Rascal, is the first of the offerings to be released under the title.

We always remain humble here at Mixmag but would like to accept most of the credit for the hook up between Norman and Dizzee. Without our 25th anniversary cover-shoot where two of our finest homegrown talent met, would ‘Toe Jam’ only feature Byrne?

Fatboy's Brighton Beach Party returns for two dayer!

Fatboy bikeFatboy Slim could be holding TWO Brighton beach parties this year.

It's rumoured he'll be playing beach gigs on September 26th and 27th.

The last time Fatboy played a beach set in Brighton was on January 1st 2007 despite being initially banned by councilors from playing outdoors in Brighton after the 2002 party which saw 250,000 people fill the beach.

The 2008 parties will be ticketed, with local residents getting first dibs.

The parties are expected to take place on Madeira Drive, between the hours of 5pm GMT and 9:30pm GMT on each day.

FATBOY HITS THE BEACH AGAIN

fatboybeachThey said he'd never be able to do it again but Mr Norman Cook, AKA Fatboy Slim, has managed to persuade Brighton council to let him do another beach party, titled Big Beach Boutique 3. After his 2002 beach party sparked major safety fears due to overcrowding it looked unlikely it would happen again but this time it's not free and instead of 250,000 revellers there will be only 20,000. Also it won't be on a hot summer's day but January 1 2007.
Joining him on the beach will be The Cuban Brothers and David Guetta and tickets are available through www.fatbotslim.net.
