Optimo, Soma and Slam to host tent at Hydro Connect Festival
Three of Scotland's key dance music players are hosting the 'Unknown Pleasures' tent at next month's Hydro Connect festival in the grounds of Inverary Castle. Optimo are hosting Friday night, with live perfomances from veteran electronic band Sparks and Mixmag faves Crystal Castles.
Soma Records are curating Saturday night, with a live show from The Roots and DJ sets from Dave Clarke (playing a special electro set) and Andrew Weatherall. James Holden will then star as Slam take over Sunday.
The festival takes place on Friday 29th - Sunday 31st August and Franz Ferdinand, Bloc party and Kasabian will also appear. Full details at www.connectmusicfestival.com
Crystal Castles to play in-store Glasgow gig
Electronic indie duo Crystal Castles are playing an all ages gig inside Avalanche Records in Glasgow this Saturday May 10th at 5pm. The spiky pair are playing the show as part of their current tour. The full May tour dates are in the comments below.

New Skins Live Tour
That noisy, fluo, and soon-to-be British institution, the Skins Live Tour, kicks off on 10th April in Manchester. Live acts for the tour include Crystal Castles, The Teenagers, Ladyhawke and David E. Sugar. Plus DJ support from The Freelance Hellraiser, Osymyso, Men In Masks, Shitdisco and more. Crystal Castles' singer in car accident
Alice Glass, vocalist for Crystal Castles, has been injured in a car accident in Canada.
After breaking her ribs, Alice has since been discharged from hospital but has had to cancel nine shows as a result.
Band-mate Ethan says "We're on tour and it's a bit of a disaster. Alice broke her ribs in a car accident. The doctor said she needs six weeks off but she wants to start playing again next week."
