V Festival dance acts revealed

ProdigyFrom a non-corporate festival (below) to arguably the most corporate, this year's V Festival has announced its headliners which includes a strong dance line-up.

The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Hot Chip and erm, Robyn join the dancier end of the acts playing at this years events.

Other headliners include Muse, The Verve, Kings of Leon, Stereophonics, Kaiser Chiefs, Amy Winhouse and The Kooks.

The events take place on 16th and 17th August 2008 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire. Tickets go on sale on Friday at www.vfestival.com

Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers at Turnmills

TurnmillsWe've just received the last EVER line up for Turmills, the London clubbing institution which closes at the end of March.

The details are as follows: The Last Ever Gallery on Friday 21st March will feature, among others, Judge Jules, Tall Paul, Seb Fontaine and Sister Bliss.

The Heavenly Get Together on Saturday 22nd March will feature The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and Justin Robertson.

The Last Dance House Special on Sunday 23rd March will include sets from Frankie Knuckles, CJ Mackintosh and another 'what retirement?' set from Danny Rampling.

Chems top album chart for fifth time

chemicalsThe Chemical Brother-s new album ‘We are The Night- has gone straight into number one in this week-s UK album charts. This is their fifth consecutive studio album to top the album charts alongside ‘Dig Your Own Hole- ‘Surrender- ‘Come With Us- and ‘Push the Button-. The only other acts to have five consecutive number on studio albums are Abba, The Beatles, Led Zepellin, Oasis, Blur and Rod Stewart.

DAFT PUNK AND CHEMICALS TO HEADLINE ROCKNESS

rockness2007 After the resounding success of Fatboy Slim's Rockness gig last year, organisers have turned this year's event into a 2 day festival with Chemical Brothers (Saturday 9 June) and Daft Punk (Sunday 10 June).
Taking place on the banks of Loch Ness, it will have an increased capacity of 35,000 and will also feature Soulwax, Erol Alkan, The Cuban Brothers, Groove Armada and another 60 acts over 4 stages.
