Jamie xx announces 10-day residency at Venue MOT, The Floor

The residency will take over the Bermondsey nightclub for 10 consecutive nights this month

Jamie xx has announced a new residency, The Floor, which will see him take over London's Venue MOT for 10 nights across May 16-25.

According to the event description, The Floor will be a “bespoke 10-night London club residency" with Jamie working with the team behind the Bermondsey nightclub to create a “totally new space."

“For years I’ve been dreaming of opening my own club in London," says Jamie xx. "A place that represents my experiences in the best of London’s underground club scene; the intimacy, the community, the curation, the sound… This month, I get to make that dream a reality.”

Each night will feature Jamie alongside a different, curated programme featuring a mix of friends, collaborators and Venue MOT regulars — with plans to keep each line-up under wraps until doors open.

The Floor residency follows the release of two singles from the London-born musician this year — the first, ‘It’s So Good', landed January, marking his first single since 2021's 'KILL DEM'

While last month saw the debut of his Honey Dijon collaboration, ‘Baddy On The Floor’; featureing audio snippets of calls between the two artists, fans have been waiting in the wings for the single since Jamie teased it during his set at All Points East in 2021.

This announcement follows recent news that Jamie is applying the final touches to his long-awaited second album, which has been teased at a number of his live shows as well as on BBC Radio 1’s New Music show with Jack Saunders.

Tickets for the event go on sale at 2:PM this Thursday (May 2), you can get hold of yours here.
